Cedar + Elm | Father Mulligan's Heritage Bar | Tonsorium Bar

In celebration of Washington Wine Month and Women’s History Month, the Lodge is proud to spotlight a trio of exceptional female winemakers whose stories are as compelling as the wines they craft. Throughout March, guests are invited to experience their wines as the featured pairings on the Cedar + Elm Tasting Menu, or as a flight in our bars. Each selection reflects our culinary philosophy—refined yet joyful, deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest, and guided by craft, curiosity, and connection.

About the Winemakers:

Esja Wines — Heritage & Joyful Minimalism

Founded by Tanya Björk, Esja Wines draws inspiration from her upbringing as a first-generation American born to Icelandic immigrants. Her philosophy blends resilience with a belief that drinking well is part of living well. Esja wines embrace minimal intervention, allowing freshness, balance, and vibrancy to shine. The result is a style that is expressive and thoughtful yet refreshingly unpretentious—wines that honor heritage while celebrating the simple joy of the glass.

Itä Wines — Stewardship of Land & Restraint

Winemaker Kelsey Albro Itämeri sources grapes from the eastern foothills of Washington’s Blue Mountains, prioritizing vineyards near her family farm with the long-term goal of fully estate-grown wines. These hillside sites naturally produce elegant wines with bright acidity, and her restrained approach—early picking, minimal oak, and gentle handling—allows terroir to speak clearly. Woman-owned and operated, Itä reflects a philosophy of stewardship, patience, and deep respect for place.

Erica Orr Wines — Curiosity, Craft & Community

Erica Orr’s path into winemaking began with a chance conversation in a San Francisco bar that changed the course of her career. After leaving a lab role at UCSF, she trained with pioneering vintners, studied at UC Davis, and ultimately brought her expertise to Washington in 2005. Known as a respected consulting winemaker behind many successful labels, Erica launched her own label in 2013 with a small, community-supported release of old-vine Chenin Blanc. Her wines reflect the same generosity, precision, and integrity that have shaped both her career and the broader Washington wine community.
