Stories of St. Edward

The script in the original cast stone detail atop the west entry reads 'Spes Messis in Semine' in Latin, which is translated to 'The Hope of the Harvest is in the Seed'. This is a nod to the gardens planted and tended to by the students at Saint Edward Seminary. We are honoring that tradition by cultivating our own Chef's Garden at The Lodge, where we'll harvest produce, herbs, and flowers for our restaurants, as well as honey from our apiary. 

As shown in the photographs below, this entry was a common spot for Saint Edward Seminary students and faculty to gather.
