Remington Hearth

Stories of St. Edward

This room once served as the prayer room, classroom, and gathering place for the students of Saint Edward Seminary. The hearth is the only original fireplace built into the building. The script above the hearth is a Latin phrase translated to 'Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity'. This certainly confirms the importance of the space as a place of unity, togetherness, and significance for the students who once called this building home. Now, the space has transformed into Remington Ballroom, where weddings and celebrations will take place at The Lodge, carrying on the legacy of the meaningful gatherings within its walls.

The photography below shows the condition the hearth was in when the restoration project began. Now, it has been thoughtfully restored to its former grandeur as the centerpiece of the building's gathering space.
