Stories of St. Edward

The developer behind the preservation of The Lodge at St. Edward, Daniels Real Estate, purchased an adjacent 10-acre waterfront parcel from the McDonald family in 2018. Daniels donated the land to the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission to expand Saint Edward State Park. The land includes 600 feet of undisturbed shoreline along Lake Washington, which has added forest habitat and trail continuity at the park. The transfer of the property to State Parks is part of Daniels’ 62-year lease of this historic building, with the ultimate goal to preserve the iconic building and adapt it for modern use as The Lodge at St. Edward State Park.
