Join Vashon and Whidbey Island-based poets, Sandra Noel, Ann Spiers, Joni Takanikos, and Andre Feriante for an evening of eclectic poetry readings and music, in celebration of World Poetry Day. Each poet will share past and new work, their backgrounds, and perspectives. There will be time to meet and greet each artist and recent books will be available for purchase. Food and drink will be available for purchase at Tonsorium Bar.
We’re honored to welcome special guest poet, Sophie-Lorraine Smith, Kenmore's first Youth Poet Laureate of Distinction. Currently a Senior at Inglemoor High School, Sophie has spent her year of reign honing her writing and speaking persona at Hugo House, City of Kenmore events, and regional poetry groups. To celebrate April's National Poetry Month, she will be engaging the community with a Poetry Exchange project at the Hangar in Town Square. Sophie serves on AOK's Youth Leadership Team and will be attending Western Washington University next fall.
